Raw Hair Dye

If you are looking to dye your hair, you may find that raw hair dye is the most cost-effective option. Raw is an reasonably inexpensive type of hair dye that is available in extra-loud, ultra-interesting, totally unnatural colors including Deep Purple, Candy Pink and True Blue. It's not particularly well known and has attracted mixed reviews from people who have used it. However it has attracted quite a following from teenagers who like to change their hair, and their mood, at a whim.

Raw hair dye is often used to create streaks of color (or even chunks of color), in which case you will need to bleach the streaks first using a hair bleach kit. There are many of these on the market, from a range of manufacturers, many of which are well known. Raw also manufactures bleach, specifically the two-part Raw "Beyond Bleach" White-Out kit which contains an activator and a conditioner/toner that you use once the bleach has created its magic.

Generally any sort of bleach will turn your hair anything from pure white to a light yellow color, the time it takes depending on the color and porosity of your hair. Once this procedure is complete you will need to rinse the bleach out of your hair using lots of cold water. Because of the "raw" intensity of the Raw hair coloring products, it is generally advised that you bleach your hair as white as possible before using them.

Raw Color should be applied to dry hair and then brushed onto the dry bleached sections – or, if you have bleached all your hair, to all of it. Those who have used it say that if you are going to bleach your hair first, you should wait 24 hours before adding color. But the manufacturer does not make this recommendation.

Be sure to shake the Raw hair dye bottle well before use, and wear gloves because it will stain your skin as well. The color only needs to be left in your hair to "process" for about 15 minutes before the residue is washed out.

Candy Pink and True Blue Raw Color are advertised as being "demi-permanent" which means they should last longer in your hair than a regular semi-permanent hair dye. It will, however, wash out over time. You will need to purchase applicators, gloves and anything else you need separately.

Raw Deep Purple hair dye comes in different packaging to the other colors, and information on the box states that it is a "long-lasting, permanent, purple hair color". It is also sold together with everything you need to dye your hair: the powder (which you mix with water), a measuring cup, gloves, a brush and a mixing bowl, and full instructions on how to use it. Like all the Raw color products, the dye doesn't have ammonia or hydrogen peroxide in it, and the Deep Purple packaging states that you don't need any. However, if you have dark hair, the color will tint your hair, not dye it the raw purple color.

Raw Color hair dye is available from Internet stores, many of which also stock Manic Panic Amplified, which is one of the most popular special effects hair dyes on the market.
